Uses

Used for mixed bacterial and anaerobic infections, including selected gastrointestinal, intra-abdominal, and gynecological infections.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones, metronidazole, or related compounds.

May cause nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, or metallic taste.

Avoid alcohol during and shortly after metronidazole therapy. Fluoroquinolones may increase the risk of tendon disorders.

Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, while metronidazole damages DNA in susceptible anaerobic organisms and protozoa.

Store at room temperature away from moisture.
