Uses

Used for hypertension or heart failure when maintenance of potassium levels is clinically important.

Do not use if

Hyperkalemia, concomitant use of other potassium-sparing agents, or severe renal impairment.

May cause dizziness, nausea, electrolyte disturbances, and hyperkalemia.

Monitor serum potassium and renal function regularly. Risk of hyperkalemia may increase in susceptible patients.

Hydrochlorothiazide promotes sodium and water excretion, while amiloride helps conserve potassium.

Store at room temperature away from moisture.
