Uses
Proteasome inhibitor indicated for treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma in adults, either alone or in combination regimens.
Do not use if

Side effects
Serious adverse effects include cardiac toxicity, renal failure, pulmonary complications, tumor lysis syndrome, and hypertension. Fatigue, anemia, and infections may also occur.
Warnings
Monitor for cardiac events, renal dysfunction, pulmonary toxicity, and tumor lysis syndrome during treatment.
How it works
Carfilzomib irreversibly inhibits the 20S proteasome, leading to accumulation of proteins and apoptosis of malignant plasma cells.
