Uses
Used for intestinal amoebiasis, amoebic colitis, and associated abdominal cramps.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to metronidazole, diloxanide, mebeverine, or formulation components.
Side effects
Nausea, abdominal discomfort, metallic taste, dizziness, and headache may occur.
Warnings
Avoid alcohol during metronidazole therapy and for a short period after treatment.
How it works
Metronidazole acts against tissue amoebae, diloxanide acts as a luminal amoebicide, and mebeverine relieves intestinal spasm.
