Used for chronic idiopathic constipation, opioid-induced constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome with constipation.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with known or suspected mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction.

May cause nausea, diarrhea, headache, abdominal pain, and abdominal distension.

Severe diarrhea may occur and requires treatment interruption and medical evaluation.

Lubiprostone activates intestinal chloride channels, increasing fluid secretion and improving bowel transit.

Store at 25°C and protect from light.
