Uses
Used for prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia and folate deficiency, especially during pregnancy.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in iron overload disorders, hemolytic anemia, pernicious anemia, and hypersensitivity to components.
Side effects
May cause nausea, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, vomiting, and allergic reactions.
Warnings
Accidental overdose of iron-containing products can be fatal in children. Folic acid alone may mask vitamin B12 deficiency.
How it works
Provides iron for hemoglobin synthesis and folic acid for DNA synthesis and red blood cell production.
Storage
Store in a tightly closed, light-resistant container at room temperature.
