Uses
Monobactam antibiotic used for susceptible Gram-negative bacterial infections. In inhaled form, it is used in cystic fibrosis patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.
Do not use if
Known hypersensitivity to aztreonam.
Side effects
Cough, wheezing, fever, abdominal discomfort, vomiting, and allergic reactions may occur.
Warnings
Monitor for allergic reactions and bronchospasm. Use only when bacterial infection is suspected or confirmed.
