Uses
Multi-ingredient topical massage emulgel for temporary relief of muscle and joint pain, stiffness, and sports injuries. The combination of rubefacients, counter-irritants, and anti-inflammatory agents provides symptomatic relief of musculoskeletal discomfort.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to any component or salicylates. Avoid application to broken, inflamed, or mucous membranes. Not for use in young children, infants, or near the face. Avoid in patients with salicylate sensitivity.
Side effects
May cause local burning, tingling, or redness at application site. Allergic contact dermatitis is possible. Avoid inhalation of vapors. Methyl salicylate may cause salicylate toxicity if applied over large areas or under occlusive dressings.
Warnings
For external use only. Do not apply near eyes, mouth, or broken skin. Wash hands after application. Do not use with heating pads or tight bandages. Keep away from children.
How it works
Methyl salicylate is a topical NSAID providing counter-irritant and anti-inflammatory effects. Camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus stimulate thermal receptors providing analgesic counter-irritation. Clove oil (eugenol) and tea tree oil add antimicrobial and mild analgesic properties. MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. Vitamin E and pomegranate oil provide antioxidant protection to the skin.
