Uses
This ophthalmic lubricant combination is used for the relief of dry eye symptoms, including irritation, burning, and discomfort due to insufficient tear production or tear film instability. It provides long-lasting lubrication and helps stabilize the tear film.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, sodium hyaluronate, or any component of the formulation.
Side effects
Generally very well tolerated. Transient blurring of vision may occur immediately after instillation. Rarely, localized ocular irritation or hypersensitivity to any excipient may occur.
Warnings
Remove contact lenses before instillation and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. If eye pain, vision change, or worsening irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.
How it works
Polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol are ocular demulcents that lubricate and protect the ocular surface. Sodium hyaluronate is a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide with viscoelastic properties that binds water and forms a protective mucoadhesive film on the corneal epithelium, prolonging residence time and stabilizing the tear film.
Storage
Store at room temperature (15–25°C), away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Discard the bottle 90 days after first opening.
