Uses
Used as a probiotic supplement to support gastrointestinal health, restore normal intestinal microflora balance, and alleviate symptoms associated with dysbiosis such as diarrhea and bloating. May be used adjunctively during or after antibiotic therapy.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any component of the product. Use with caution in severely immunocompromised patients due to theoretical risk of bacteremia.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated. Mild gastrointestinal effects such as bloating, flatulence, or loose stools may occur, especially at initiation of therapy. Serious adverse effects are rare in immunocompetent individuals.

How it works
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis are lactic acid-producing bacteria that colonize the intestinal mucosa, competitively exclude pathogens, modulate immune responses, and produce bacteriocins. They help maintain an acidic intestinal environment unfavorable to pathogenic organisms.
