Uses

Inhalational general anesthetic used for induction and maintenance of anesthesia in adults and for maintenance in pediatric patients after induction with other agents.

Do not use if

Known susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia, hypersensitivity to halogenated anesthetics, contraindication to general anesthesia, or induction in pediatric patients.

Side effects

Coughing, breath holding, apnea, nausea, and vomiting are common.

Warnings

May trigger malignant hyperthermia. Requires administration by trained anesthesia professionals.
