Uses

Used for susceptible bacterial infections and as an option in the management of toxoplasmosis during pregnancy in selected cases.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to spiramycin or other macrolides.

Nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, rash, and allergic reactions may occur.

Use cautiously in patients with severe hepatic impairment and monitor for hypersensitivity reactions.

Macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit.

Store at room temperature.
