Uses

Used for treatment of CMV retinitis and prevention of CMV disease in high-risk transplant recipients.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to valganciclovir, ganciclovir, or formulation components.

Neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, renal impairment, and gastrointestinal symptoms may occur.

May cause severe bone marrow suppression, fetal toxicity, and impaired fertility. Monitor blood counts and renal function.

A prodrug converted to ganciclovir that inhibits CMV DNA polymerase.

Store tablets at controlled room temperature according to product labeling.
