Uses
Used as an antidote for acetaminophen overdose and as a mucolytic to reduce mucus viscosity.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with previous hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine.
Side effects
Rash, pruritus, urticaria, flushing, nausea, and vomiting may occur.
Warnings
Serious hypersensitivity reactions including bronchospasm and hypotension may occur.
How it works
Restores glutathione stores and detoxifies toxic acetaminophen metabolites; also breaks disulfide bonds in mucus.

Store at 20–25°C and protect from excessive heat.
