Uses
Oral nutritional supplements containing carbohydrates, fat, and protein are indicated for nutritional support in patients with increased nutritional requirements, malnutrition, or conditions limiting adequate oral food intake, such as cancer, chronic disease, or post-surgical recovery.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with galactosemia or known hypersensitivity to any ingredient. Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation may occur, especially if intake is increased too rapidly. Hyperglycemia is possible in diabetic patients.
Warnings
Monitor blood glucose in diabetic patients. Patients with renal or hepatic disease may require specialist-supervised formulations with adjusted protein content.
How it works
Provides macronutrients — carbohydrates as an energy source, fats supplying essential fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins, and protein supporting tissue synthesis and repair. High-calorie formulations (e.g., 2 kcal/mL) are designed for volume-restricted patients.
Storage
Store at room temperature below 25°C. Once opened, refrigerate and consume within 24 hours.
