Uses

Used for sclerotherapy of recently bleeding esophageal varices to reduce the risk of rebleeding.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to ethanolamine, oleic acid, or ethanolamine oleate.

Chest pain, fever, esophageal ulceration, pleural effusion, pneumonia, and esophageal stricture may occur.

Use only by experienced specialists. Use during pregnancy only when clearly needed.

Acts as a sclerosant by damaging venous endothelium, leading to fibrosis and vessel occlusion.

Store at 15–30°C and protect from light.
