Treatment of acute iron poisoning and chronic transfusional iron overload.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to deferoxamine, severe renal disease, or anuria.

Hypersensitivity reactions, visual or hearing disturbances, renal toxicity, and respiratory complications may occur.

Monitor hearing, vision, kidney function, and hypersensitivity reactions during prolonged treatment.

Chelates excess iron by forming stable complexes that are eliminated from the body.

Store according to manufacturer instructions.
