Uses

Used for trichomoniasis, giardiasis, amebiasis, and bacterial vaginosis in appropriate patients.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to nitroimidazoles and in patients with Cockayne syndrome.

Common effects include metallic taste, nausea, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and vomiting.

Use only for confirmed or strongly suspected susceptible infections. Avoid alcohol during treatment and shortly afterward.

A nitroimidazole antimicrobial with antiprotozoal and antibacterial activity.

Store at room temperature in a tightly closed container.
