Uses
Antibacterial agent used for treatment of certain intestinal bacterial infections and traveler's diarrhea.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to rifamycin antibiotics.
Side effects
Abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, or headache may occur.
Warnings
Not effective for viral or non-bacterial diarrhea.
How it works
Inhibits bacterial RNA polymerase and limits bacterial growth.
