Uses
Antioxidant micronutrient combination used as a dietary supplement to support immune function, protect against oxidative stress, and address deficiencies of selenium and fat-soluble vitamins A and E alongside vitamin C. May be used as adjunctive nutritional support.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any component. High-dose vitamin A is contraindicated in pregnancy due to teratogenicity. Avoid excessive doses in patients with hepatic disease or hypervitaminosis A.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated at recommended doses. Excessive selenium intake may cause selenosis (hair loss, nail changes, garlic breath, nausea). High doses of vitamin A can be hepatotoxic and teratogenic. Vitamin C in excess may cause gastrointestinal upset.
Warnings
Vitamin A supplementation should be avoided or used with caution in pregnant women due to teratogenicity at high doses. Total daily intake of each vitamin from all sources should be considered to avoid hypervitaminosis. Patients on anticoagulants should be cautious with high-dose vitamin E.
How it works
Selenium is an essential trace element incorporated into selenoproteins including glutathione peroxidase, which protects cells from oxidative damage. Vitamin A supports epithelial integrity and immune function. Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant and cofactor in collagen synthesis. Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a lipid-soluble antioxidant protecting cell membranes.
Storage
Store at room temperature below 25°C, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
