Uses

Used for Parkinson's disease, drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms, and historically for influenza A infections.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amantadine.

May cause nausea, dizziness, insomnia, hallucinations, dry mouth, and peripheral edema.

Use cautiously in patients with psychiatric disorders, seizures, or renal impairment.

Enhances dopaminergic activity in the CNS and interferes with influenza A viral uncoating.

Store at room temperature in a tightly closed container.
