Uses

Used to reduce toxicity from folate antagonist therapy, enhance fluorouracil treatment, and treat certain folate deficiencies.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to folinic acid preparations and in untreated pernicious anemia as sole therapy.

Nausea, vomiting, allergic reactions, insomnia, and injection-site reactions may occur.

Monitor response carefully when used with methotrexate or fluorouracil.

Active folate derivative that bypasses dihydrofolate reductase and restores folate-dependent cellular processes.

Store according to product instructions and protect from excessive heat.
