Uses

Previously used for weight management in obesity. It has been withdrawn or restricted in many countries due to cardiovascular safety concerns.

Do not use if

Cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension, and hypersensitivity to sibutramine.

Increased heart rate, hypertension, insomnia, dry mouth, and headache may occur.

Associated with increased cardiovascular risk and generally not recommended.

Inhibits reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, reducing appetite.
