Uses
Used for anxiety disorders, acute alcohol withdrawal symptoms, muscle spasms, and as adjunctive therapy for certain seizure disorders.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in myasthenia gravis, severe respiratory insufficiency, severe hepatic impairment, sleep apnea, and hypersensitivity to diazepam.
Side effects
Common effects include drowsiness, fatigue, muscle weakness, impaired coordination, dizziness, and confusion.
Warnings
Risk of dependence, abuse, withdrawal reactions, and severe respiratory depression when combined with opioids.
