Uses

Used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in sinus bradycardia, advanced AV block, cardiogenic shock, overt heart failure, and hypersensitivity.

May cause transient eye discomfort, blurred vision, tearing, or local irritation.

Systemic beta-blocker effects may occur after ophthalmic administration. Monitor patients with cardiac disease.

Betaxolol is a selective beta-1 blocker that reduces aqueous humor production and lowers intraocular pressure.

Store at room temperature and keep the bottle tightly closed.
