Uses

Used for protozoal infections and susceptible anaerobic bacterial infections, including trichomoniasis.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metronidazole or other nitroimidazoles.

Nausea, metallic taste, abdominal discomfort, headache, and dizziness may occur.

Avoid unnecessary prolonged use. Neurological adverse effects may occur with extended treatment.

Produces toxic metabolites within susceptible microorganisms, leading to DNA damage and cell death.

Store at room temperature away from moisture.
