Uses

Used to reduce cardiovascular death and hospitalization in chronic heart failure and to treat symptomatic heart failure in eligible pediatric patients.

Do not use if

History of angioedema related to ACE inhibitors or ARBs, concomitant ACE inhibitor use, or hypersensitivity.

Side effects

Hypotension, hyperkalemia, dizziness, impaired renal function, and angioedema may occur.

Warnings

Contraindicated during pregnancy due to fetal toxicity. Monitor renal function and potassium levels.

How it works

Combines neprilysin inhibition with angiotensin II receptor blockade to improve cardiovascular outcomes.
