Uses
Used for treatment of Candida infections affecting skin, mucous membranes, and the oral cavity depending on formulation.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to nystatin or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause irritation, burning, itching, rash, and local allergic reactions.
Warnings
Not effective for systemic fungal infections and should be used only for susceptible fungal diseases.
How it works
Nystatin binds fungal cell membrane sterols, causing leakage of cellular contents and fungal death.
Storage
Store at 20–25°C and avoid excessive heat.
