Uses

Used to reverse the anticoagulant effect of heparin and low-molecular-weight heparins in certain situations.

Do not use if

Known hypersensitivity to protamine or severe previous reactions to protamine-containing products.

May cause hypotension, flushing, bradycardia, nausea, or allergic reactions.

Administer slowly under monitoring due to risk of severe hypotension and anaphylactic reactions.

Binds to heparin to form an inactive complex, neutralizing its anticoagulant activity.

Store according to manufacturer instructions and protect from freezing.
