Uses

Used for prevention and treatment of folate deficiency and folate-deficiency anemia, including during pregnancy.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to folic acid. It should not be used alone to treat pernicious anemia.

Generally well tolerated; allergic reactions and mild gastrointestinal symptoms may rarely occur.

Folic acid may mask hematologic manifestations of vitamin B12 deficiency while neurological damage progresses.

Water-soluble B vitamin required for DNA synthesis, cell division, and red blood cell formation.

Store at room temperature in a tightly closed container.
