Uses

Topical silicone gel used for the prevention and treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids following surgery, trauma, or burns. May also improve the appearance of old scars.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to silicone or tocopherol. Should not be applied to open wounds or active skin infections.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. Mild skin irritation, pruritus, or rash may occasionally occur at the application site. Rarely, maceration of surrounding skin with occlusive use.

Warnings

Allow gel to dry completely before covering with clothing. For external use only. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes.

How it works

Silicone gel creates an occlusive barrier that hydrates the stratum corneum, normalizes fibroblast activity, and reduces excess collagen production in scar tissue. Tocopherol (vitamin E) provides antioxidant activity and may support skin healing and reduce oxidative stress in remodeling tissue.

Storage

Store at room temperature (15–30°C). Keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze.
