Used to lower LDL cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular risk in appropriate patients.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in active liver disease, acute liver failure, and hypersensitivity to the drug.

Muscle pain, elevated liver enzymes, and gastrointestinal complaints may occur.

Monitor for myopathy, rhabdomyolysis, and liver dysfunction.

HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
