Uses

Used in the management of alcohol dependence and for blocking the effects of externally administered opioids as part of a comprehensive treatment program.

Do not use if

Current opioid use, opioid dependence, acute opioid withdrawal, positive opioid screening, or hypersensitivity.

Side effects

Nausea, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and abdominal discomfort may occur.

Warnings

Patients may be more vulnerable to opioid overdose after treatment due to reduced opioid tolerance.
