Uses
Used for the treatment of hypertension either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to clonidine or any component of the formulation.
Side effects
Common adverse effects include dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, and sedation.
Warnings
Do not discontinue abruptly because rebound hypertension may occur. Monitor blood pressure regularly.
How it works
Stimulates central alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, reducing sympathetic outflow and lowering blood pressure.
