Uses

Carbamide (urea) at oral/dental concentrations is used for cleansing canker sores, minor mouth wounds, and gum inflammation resulting from dental procedures, dentures, or accidental injury. It also aids in the removal of oral secretions associated with sore mouth.

Do not use if

Should not be used for more than 7 days unless directed by a dentist or physician. Avoid swallowing the product.

Side effects

May cause transient stinging or irritation at the site of application. Persistent swelling, rash, fever, or worsening pain should prompt discontinuation and medical consultation.

Warnings

Avoid contact with eyes. Do not swallow. Discontinue use if irritation, swelling, rash, or fever develops. Oral symptoms that do not improve within 7 days should be evaluated by a healthcare provider.

How it works

Carbamide (urea peroxide) releases hydrogen peroxide in the oral environment, producing oxygen bubbles that mechanically debride wounds and reduce anaerobic bacteria. The urea component also has mild keratolytic and humectant properties.
