Uses
Used topically for plaque psoriasis and acne vulgaris.
Do not use if
Contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with hypersensitivity to tazarotene or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause itching, redness, burning, dryness, peeling, and skin irritation.
Warnings
May cause fetal harm and increased photosensitivity. Effective contraception and sun protection are recommended.
How it works
Tazarotene is a retinoid prodrug that modulates gene expression through retinoic acid receptors and normalizes skin cell differentiation.
