Uses

Indicated for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with simple backache, arthritis, bruises, strains, and sprains. For external use only.

Do not use if

Not for use on damaged, broken, or irritated skin, or near eyes and mucous membranes. Avoid in patients with known salicylate or aspirin hypersensitivity. Do not use in children under 12 years of age without medical advice.

Side effects

May cause skin irritation, redness, or rash at the application site. Discontinue use if severe irritation, worsening pain, or allergic reaction occurs. Salicylate absorption through the skin may rarely cause systemic effects.

Warnings

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to wounds or damaged skin. Do not bandage tightly or use with heating pads. Test on a small skin area if prone to allergic reactions from aspirin or salicylates.

How it works

Camphor acts as a counterirritant stimulating cutaneous sensory receptors to produce a cooling and mild analgesic sensation. Menthol activates cold-sensing TRPM8 receptors creating a cooling effect and mild local analgesia. Methyl salicylate is a topical anti-inflammatory and analgesic via inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis locally.

Store at room temperature. Keep away from direct heat and open flame. Store out of reach of children.
