Uses

A topical antiseptic formulation used for skin cleansing and disinfection before medical procedures and for general skin hygiene. Provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or other components. Avoid contact with the brain, meninges, middle ear, and eyes.

Side effects

May cause skin irritation, dryness, or contact dermatitis with prolonged use. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions including urticaria may occur.

Warnings

Avoid contact with eyes, ears, and mucous membranes. Do not use in body cavities or on large open wounds without medical supervision. Not for systemic use.

How it works

Chlorhexidine disrupts bacterial cell membranes, providing bactericidal activity against gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Chlorocresol is a phenolic disinfectant with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. Hexamine (methenamine) releases formaldehyde at acidic pH with additional antimicrobial properties.

Store at room temperature away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed.
