Uses

Used in the treatment of leukemias, lymphomas, breast cancer, sarcomas, and several other solid tumors.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in severe cardiac disease, severe hepatic impairment, severe myelosuppression, and hypersensitivity.

Myelosuppression, nausea, vomiting, mucositis, hair loss, and cardiotoxicity may occur.

May cause irreversible cardiomyopathy, severe tissue damage after extravasation, and secondary malignancies.

Anthracycline antineoplastic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II.

Store refrigerated at 2–8°C and protect from light.
