Uses

Combined oral contraceptive containing dienogest (a progestogen) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen), used for the prevention of pregnancy. Also used in the management of endometriosis and acne in some formulations.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in women with history of venous or arterial thromboembolism, severe liver disease, hormone-sensitive malignancies, uncontrolled hypertension, or during pregnancy. Contraindicated in smokers over 35 years of age.

Side effects

Common side effects include nausea, headache, breast tenderness, irregular bleeding, and mood changes. Thromboembolic events, though rare, are among the serious risks associated with combined oral contraceptives.

Warnings

Increased risk of venous thromboembolism, stroke, and myocardial infarction. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended. Discontinue if prolonged immobilization, surgery, or signs of thrombosis occur. Use with caution in women with migraine with aura.

How it works

Dienogest is a selective progestogen with antiandrogenic properties that suppresses ovulation by inhibiting gonadotropin secretion. Ethinyl estradiol stabilizes the endometrium and augments contraceptive efficacy. Together they inhibit ovulation, alter cervical mucus, and modify the endometrial lining.

Store at room temperature below 25°C, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep in original packaging.
