Uses

This herbal combination is used as an antispasmodic and carminative agent for the relief of infantile colic, flatulence, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Fennel and ginger have traditional use in reducing intestinal spasm and expelling gas.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fennel, ginger, or related plants. Use with caution in infants with a history of allergic reactions to herbal products.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated at recommended doses. Occasional mild gastrointestinal upset, allergic skin reactions, or hypersensitivity may occur, particularly in patients sensitive to plants of the Apiaceae family.

Warnings

Consult a physician before use in infants under three months. Herbal preparations may interact with anticoagulants or other medications. Discontinue if adverse reactions occur.

How it works

Fennel seed extract contains anethole and fenchone, which exert antispasmodic and carminative effects on intestinal smooth muscle. Ginger root extract contains gingerols and shogaols, which reduce gastrointestinal motility dysfunction and have antiemetic and anti-inflammatory properties.
