Uses

Used as a mucolytic agent in respiratory conditions associated with excessive or thick mucus.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to carbocysteine and active peptic ulcer disease.

May cause nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and skin rash.

Use cautiously in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulceration.

Carbocysteine reduces mucus viscosity and facilitates expectoration.

Store at room temperature.
