Uses
Used as a diagnostic contrast and staining agent in ophthalmic and angiographic procedures to visualize ocular structures and blood vessels.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluorescein or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause eye irritation, redness, hypersensitivity reactions, nausea, or temporary discoloration of skin and urine after systemic use.
Warnings
Prolonged ocular exposure may cause corneal toxicity. Patients should avoid touching anesthetized eyes until sensation returns.
