Uses
Used with chemotherapy for HER2-positive early breast cancer and with docetaxel for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. It is indicated in selected patients as part of HER2-targeted therapy.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to pertuzumab, trastuzumab, hyaluronidase, or any component of the formulation.
Side effects
Common adverse effects include diarrhea, fatigue, nausea, alopecia, injection-site reactions, and neutropenia. Serious cardiac, pulmonary, and hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Warnings
May cause cardiomyopathy, embryo-fetal toxicity, and pulmonary toxicity. Cardiac monitoring is required during treatment.
How it works
Pertuzumab and trastuzumab target different HER2 receptor domains and inhibit tumor cell signaling. Hyaluronidase facilitates subcutaneous administration.
