Uses
Indicated for the prevention and treatment of B-vitamin complex deficiencies. Used as a nutritional supplement to support energy metabolism, nervous system function, and skin health.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to any B vitamin component. Caution in patients with renal impairment or hepatic disease, especially with prolonged high-dose use.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated. High-dose niacin (nicotinamide) may cause flushing, pruritus, or hepatotoxicity. Pyridoxine (B6) in high doses can cause peripheral neuropathy with long-term use. Riboflavin may cause harmless yellow discoloration of urine.
Warnings
Consult a physician before use in patients with renal or hepatic disorders. Prolonged high-dose pyridoxine should be avoided due to risk of sensory neuropathy.
How it works
B vitamins are essential coenzymes in cellular metabolism. Thiamine (B1) is required for carbohydrate metabolism and nerve conduction. Riboflavin (B2) and nicotinamide are components of redox coenzymes. Pyridoxine (B6) is involved in amino acid metabolism. Cyanocobalamin (B12) is essential for DNA synthesis and neurological function. Calcium pantothenate (B5) is a precursor to coenzyme A.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light.
