Uses
Treatment of candidemia, invasive Candida infections, and esophageal candidiasis. Used in adults and eligible pediatric patients.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to anidulafungin, other echinocandins, or hereditary fructose intolerance in relevant formulations.
Side effects
Common effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and low potassium levels. Serious hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Warnings
Monitor liver function during therapy. Serious infusion-related and anaphylactic reactions have been reported.
How it works
Anidulafungin is an echinocandin antifungal that inhibits fungal cell wall synthesis.
