Uses

Used for the prevention and symptomatic relief of nausea and vomiting, including morning sickness in pregnancy, chemotherapy-induced nausea, and motion sickness. Ginger has been studied for its antiemetic properties, and vitamin B6 is a recognized treatment for nausea of pregnancy.

Do not use if

Use with caution in patients on anticoagulant therapy as ginger may potentiate antiplatelet effects. Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any component.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. High doses of ginger may cause mild heartburn, mouth irritation, or gastrointestinal discomfort. Vitamin B6 at high doses can rarely cause peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use.

Warnings

Pregnant women should consult a physician before use, even though the combination is commonly used for morning sickness. Avoid exceeding recommended doses of vitamin B6 due to risk of neuropathy.

How it works

Gingerols and shogaols in ginger extract are thought to act on 5-HT3 and NK1 receptors, modulating the vomiting reflex. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is a cofactor in neurotransmitter synthesis and may modulate serotonin pathways involved in nausea.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 15–30°C, protected from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
