Uses

Alkylating antineoplastic agent used in certain leukemias and conditioning regimens before stem cell transplantation.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to busulfan or severe uncontrolled bone marrow suppression.

Myelosuppression, infections, nausea, vomiting, and pulmonary toxicity may occur.

Requires specialist supervision and close monitoring of blood counts.

Alkylates DNA, leading to inhibition of cell replication and cell death.
