Uses
Used for certain brain tumors and as part of combination therapy for Hodgkin lymphoma.
Do not use if
Avoid use in patients with hypersensitivity to lomustine or severe uncontrolled toxicity.
Side effects
May cause severe delayed bone marrow suppression, nausea, vomiting, pulmonary toxicity, and liver toxicity.
Warnings
Requires close monitoring of blood counts. Serious delayed myelosuppression may occur.
How it works
An alkylating nitrosourea that damages DNA and RNA and crosses the blood-brain barrier.
Storage
Store at 25°C. Avoid excessive heat and handle as a cytotoxic drug.
