Uses

Used for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults.

Do not use if

Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors, pimozide, and in patients with hypersensitivity to citalopram.

Nausea, dry mouth, insomnia, sweating, fatigue, and sexual dysfunction may occur.

Monitor for suicidal thoughts, serotonin syndrome, and QT prolongation, especially in high-risk patients.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases serotonergic activity in the central nervous system.

Store at room temperature.
